Doing this is going to take a pair

Have you picked your word of the year?

If this is the first you’re hearing of the word of the year phenomenon, the idea is you pick a word that you use as your North Star throughout the year.

It’s a great idea. It’s fun and keeps you intentional about your new goals beyond the first week of January.

Last year, I had my word of the year… Bon Vivant… tattooed to my wrist. I chose Bon Vivant because I wanted to have more fun. And it worked! My favorite memory of 2022 was being on top of the Eiffel tower with my niece Elisa.

But this year, my word of the year feels anything but fun.  It’s making me so nervous, I already want to run away from it and there is no way I’m having it tattooed to any part of my body!

On the other hand, I’ve never been so certain this is the word I need to choose.

That’s because my 2023 word of the year is COURAGEOUS.

You see, this is the year Jackie and I will change the world for Generation X and women 40+ and that’s going to take a pair of lady balls.

It scares the crap out of me.

But I also know it’s my personal life’s work to tell women 40+ that no matter what difficult circumstance they find themself in here at midlife, they can turn it around.

Together, Jackie and I are fiercely committed to making sure you have the professional success you desire.

We’re lifting you to be seen and heard and make the money you desire because with money comes power and when we have the power we no longer need to accept the unacceptable.

And the truth this, we need this kind of power more than ever before because the world is a shit show.

Think about it. How would things be different if Gen X women ruled the world? That’s exactly what we talked about in this week’s episode of Modern Gen X Woman. Take a listen.

All of this brings me back to my word of the year… courageous.

Will it be fun? I don’t know. Will it be fierce? You bet and I can’t wait.
